Start the next 10 days brings you into the ‘Green City in the Sun’ and the Maasai phrase ‘the place of cool waters.”  Two nights in one of the best camps in Amboseli National Park, in a prime location to view the majesty of Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro.

Two nights stay in Loldia House an original Kenyan home set on an old farm on the shores of Lake Naivasha. Next two nights reveals Mbweha Camp tucked away in the spectacular Great Rift Valley on the private 6,400-acre Congreve Conservancy bordering Lake Nakuru National Park. Last two nights stay at Little Governors’ Camp run on 100% solar power, awarded a Gold Eco-Rating from Eco-Tourism Kenya. Finishing in Nairobi.

Itinerary

Met on arrival from your international flight at the JKIA airport by one of our representatives to your luxury City hotel of choice from our partner hotels. Subject to flight arrival, day spent at leisure with options of excursions as selected.
Lunch at the Tamarind Tree Hotel. Dinner on own account. Overnight at the Hotel in preparation for your adventure that begins tomorrow.

After an early breakfast check out from your Tamarind Tree Hotel, our driver will pick you for a 4 hr 13min (approx. 246 km) drive to Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for check-in and lunch at the Tortilis Camp, with a siesta thereafter.
Late afternoon game viewing drive in open game drive vehicles note, this is the first camp to use open vehicles in a National Park, and Tortilis has access to private game driving within their own 30,000-acre Kitirua Conservancy, which is the western part of the Amboseli ecosystem.
Here the vast herds of Bull Elephants with the longest tusks in Kenya may be seen whilst on game drive. Return to the Camp for dinner.

Full day in Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game viewing drive inside the park with picnic lunch organized by the Camp. This spectacular 39,206 ha (392.06 km2) wilderness with Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow-covered peaks as its backdrop lays the foundation for unrivalled photographic splendor.
The open plains of Amboseli have an array of large game and over 400 bird species listed in the park. Game viewing drives are in 4 x 4 premium model safari land cruisers (7-seater) with a one a kind retractable canvas awning ideal for picnics or sundowner experiences, in-built fridges, charging ports and unlimited Wi-Fi.
Optional activities available for your choice including guided walking safari, visit to Maasai local community, relax by the swimming pool, bush breakfast, sundowners after a late afternoon game viewing drive where you can also visit a local Maasai homestead.

After an early morning game drive in Kitirua Conservancy, return to the camp for breakfast. Thereafter, depart by 8am for Lake Naivasha’s Loldia House, approx. 4hr 14 min (232km) drive with a stop in Nairobi onto the famous Carnivore Restaurant along Langata Road known as the ‘beast of a feast’ a meat lovers’ den indeed.
After lunch you will proceed for another 2hr5min to the Moi North Lake Road onto Loldia House. Arrive late afternoon, if you wish and subject to tides you can have a boat ride to Crescent Island. Here you have an opportunity to walk among large herds of plains game, which includes waterbucks, grants and Thompson’s gazelle, zebra and birds. Return for dinner at the house.

Full day spent at Loldia House an old farmhouse converted and run by Governors’ Camp Collection. This is an original‚ settler-style home built on the shores of Lake Naivasha in 1939. You can enjoy a gentle pace of life by relaxing by the pool, go on full day game drive where a picnic breakfast/lunch will be provided, guided walk or horseback ride among the herds of plains game which live alongside farm animals.
Around the house you can go walking, jogging, or running accompanied by a guide, explore the garden’s birdlife guided, take a school visit to Loldia primary school, take Loldia’s free guided boat trips on a clear morning or late afternoon in quest for water birds and hippos.
You may choose to visit the Souvenir shop in the main house or go for spa treatments and end up with a night game drive (8.30 or 9pm) after dinner in the bushes of Loldia Ranch.

After breakfast, drive 1 hr 41mins (72km) to Lake Nakuru National Park with a morning game viewing drive enroute to the Sarova Lion Hill Game lodge for lunch. Lake Nakuru National Park sits on the floor of the Great rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grasslands.
Here you enjoy the surrounding escarpments and picturesque ridges. Where the main attractions are Flamingoes both Lesser and Greater, a variety of terrestrial bird species over 450 in number, over 56 different mammal species and the Makalia waterfalls.
The lake is a shallow water mass fed by rivers Njoro and Nderit, as such the depth allows growth of algae which attracts one and half million lesser and greater flamingoes to its shores. Whilst on your game drive after lunch you may see giraffes, rhinos, waterbucks as you exist the park driving towards Mbweha Camp in Congreve Conservancy 50mins (32km). Check-in for dinner and overnight.

Full day in 6,400-acre private Congreve Conservancy, where Mbweha camp is nestled against the southern border of Lake Nakuru National Park with beautiful views of the Eburu and Mau Ranges. Here you may opt for a Balloon safari ending with champagne breakfast which is done at dawn.
Whilst on your morning game viewing drive, you may see the plains game such as buffaloes, giraffe, aardvark, baboon, dik dik, waterbuck, impala, elands, warthogs, zebras and hyena.
Optional activities include guided bush walks, night game drives, sundowners and bush breakfast. All can be arranged subject to the number of nights you decide to tailor your dream safari.

After breakfast, check-out and drive take you 4hr 51min (221.7km) to Little Governors Camp – Maasai Mara National Reserve situated southwest of Kenya. Globally renowned for its exceptional wildlife.
This unique wildlife haven is home to the largest population of African big cats in Kenya and Africa at large, also famous for millions of wildebeests that migrate annually.
Drive through Musiara gate 37min (16.4km) to Little Governors Camp, located in the Riverine Forest, around a watering hole, close to the Mara River with views across to the Oloololo Escarpment. Enjoy a short game drive enroute to the Camp.
Arrive in time to check-in, all vehicles are left on the far river bank, and the camp is accessible by a very short boat ride across the Mara River, then an escorted walk through the riverine forest where the camp is quiet and undisturbed.
Lunch at the Camp following a siesta, as you sit out on the wooden deck with large verandahs as you enjoy the constant game activity that takes place around the marsh in front of camp, as the camp is not fenced. Your first late afternoon game viewing drive in the Mara, known to be the best place to see the cheetah and the rare black rhino.

Full day in the Mara, with three game drives per full day, these depart from camp at sunrise, late morning and in the afternoon. Alternatively, you can go on half-day or full-day extended game drives with picnic meals.
You have optional activities some may require pre-booking and subject to weather; hot air- balloon safari includes champagne breakfast (departures are at dawn), wildebeest migration, visit the Maasai Cultural village, guided walking safari, cultural talks by the community liaison officer or the lodge manager, bird watching in the Mara with over 470 bird species including 46 different bird prey. An early morning game viewing drive in the Mara, after hot cup of tea/coffee in search of any game missed on the previous drives. Return to the Camp for breakfast, as you check-out and head back to Nairobi a 5 hr 45 min (282.0 km), transferred to an airport hotel for lunch with a day room to freshen up before your outbound flight.

Is the tap water safe for drinking on safari?

It is recommended not to drink tap water in any location but to drink the bottled water purchased at the hotels, lodge, and camps.

What mode of payment can be used for extras at the Camps/lodges?

Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Please note we cannot accept US dollar bills older than the year 2000.

What is the recommended length of stay at each location?

Minimum 2 nights in each location and recommended 4 nights.

How long is the hot air balloon flight?

Flights last an average of 1 hour and offer excellent photographic opportunities.

Are children allowed on the hot air balloon flight?

Children must be eight years old and above and taller than 1.2 meters to participate in our hot air balloon safari, for safety reasons.

What is included in the cost hot-air balloon safari?

Transfers from nearby camps and lodges.
Sunrise balloon flight.

What electricity sockets are used in East Africa?

Kenya operates on a 240V supply voltage and 50Hz.

What is the recommended tipping or gratuities to the safari driver guide, porter, staff or waiters/waitresses whilst on safari?

Please see below recommended guideline which is at your discretion.
Safari driver guide per day, per vehicle $10 – $40 per person.
Restaurant waiter/waitresses per meal $1.50 – $2.00 per person
Porter per bag $ 0.50 – $1.50 per person

Can I use my mobile phone whilst on safari?

Yes, you can but you will need to buy a local sim card, on arrival for use during your stay. Or use the lodges, camps or hotel landlines to make internationals calls, this will be billed to your room.

When is a booking considered reserved?

Terms of reservations and payments based on seasons:

Booking during the green season (7th January – 15th June, 1st November – 21st December) done between 42days prior to the guest’s proposed arrival date, and reservations made less than 42 days prior to the proposed date of arrival, such bookings will only be confirmed upon receipt of a 100% pre-payment.

Bookings during the migration season (16th June – 31st October) and festive season (22nd December – 8th January) full payment is due not later than 60 days prior to the guests’ arrival date on all hotels, lodges and Camps.
