Overview

Arusha City, an important business center, is the regional capital. Area 14,087 square miles. Located below the foot of Mount Meru, on the eastern part of the Great Rift Valley and the regional capital of the Arusha Region. With a population of 519,000 in the 2022 census in the surrounding Arusha Rural District.

Home to the major international diplomatic hubs, hosting the African Court of the African Union and the capital of the East African Community. The City has a temperate climate and is an ideal starting or finishing point for all northern circuit safaris into Tanzania.  Close to the Serengeti National Park (4hr 23min drive – 235.5km/146.3miles).
