Overview

15 days in three of East Africa’s unique safari destinations, your safari begins your arrival into Arusha to experience the vibrant chaos and the juxtaposition between colonial, traditional, and new for a night, before embarking on two nights in Ngorongoro Conservation Area famous for being the largest inactive and intact volcanic caldera in the whole world, experience game drive descending into the crater. 

Two nights in Serengeti National Park, exchange vehicles as you cross the border to Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve, for two nights, here you will enjoy a hot air-balloon ride over the Mara Plains.

The next two nights in Chyulu Hills National Park offers you excellent view of Mount Kilimanjaro and night game drive to experience the nocturnal wildlife.

Fly from Nairobi to Entebbe for both chimpanzee and mountain gorilla trekking, where you will come in close proximity with these primates. Kibale and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Parks enable this experience. 

Your last night is spent in Lake Mburo National Park, home to the eland, impala, waterbucks, Topis, Orbis, the only place in Uganda to see giant bush rats, finish off with a boat ride. Drive back to Entebbe via the Equator for lunch, and photographs before your driver guide bids you farewell at the Depature terminal.

Itinerary

Met on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport by our Tanzanian Representative’s’ driver guide, welcomed, and transferred to the Katambuga House an hour 20mins drive to the oasis of tranquility set in lush gardens filled with birdsong and surrounded by coffee estates.

Check-in for lunch or dinner, in this expansive tropical garden with Mount Meru in the background. Relax by the swimming pool (if your flight arrives in the morning) you would opt to walk around the house gardens which are a perfect sanctuary for any bird-watching enthusiast.

Meals: Dinner. Overnight at a Hotel in Katambuga House

After breakfast at the house, check-out and a 2 hr 56min (102 mi) drive to Ang’ata Ngorongoro, check-in for lunch, after lunch a 45min (12.7mi) drive to the crater rim where you will descend into the crater in search of wildlife species which include elephants, giraffes, antelopes, cheetahs, waterbucks, lions, leopards and 23 Black Rhinoceroses that live inside the crater. Return to your Camp for dinner.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight at the Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp

Early morning breakfast, check-out before depart to Serengeti National Park, arriving for lunch as well as check-in at Ang’ata Serengeti Camp with 12 large Guest tents including a 2 tent Family unit your home for the next two nights.

Afternoon game drives on the plains of Serengeti. This is the home to the Big 5 lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Also seen in plenty on the savannah plains are the wildebeests (Gnu) zebras, lions, cheetahs.

During the wildebeest migration the Mara River gives you a chance to witness the iconic crossing. A chance to more zebras, wildebeest, hartebeests, antelopes, waterbucks, hyenas, warthogs and many more.

The unique habitat of the riverine forests is a favorite spot for hippos and crocodiles. Drive back to the lodge at the end of the day for dinner and overnight.

Opt for a full day in Central Serengeti – Seronera area with packed lunch boxes, where you will reach Moru Kopjes and the Maasai Kopjes with the rock paintings and N’gong Rocks to the south.

Or before dawn transfer to and from your lodge or camp to the hot air ballooning launch site near the Masai Kopjes, ending with champagne breakfast, and proceed for a mid-morning game drive returning for lunch at the Camp.

Late afternoon game viewing drive in the park to see the animals maybe hunting in the cool of evening. Return for dinner and relaxation by the Bush TV (local name for camp fire) lit when the weather permits after dinner time.

You will start your day with breakfast at your lodge in Serengeti National Park. You will cross via Isebania border a 4hr 7min (117mi), clear with immigration and exchange drivers’ and vehicles at the border then proceed to Masai Mara National Reserve where you will have a game drive enroute once you enter Maasai Mara National Reserve a 2hr 32min (63.4mi) to Kilima Camp. You will arrive late afternoon, freshen-up for dinner and overnight towering over the Mara plains 1,800 meters above sea level. Nestled up in this perfect place to experience the “wild silence”, hear the roar of a lion, the rasp of a leopard.

Early morning wake-up to a cup of coffee or tea before your transfer to the launching area of the Hot air-balloon. Watch as the balloon is prepared for take off with a cup of coffee or tea in hand. Set off in the hot air-balloon before dawn for an hour-long ride, over the Mara plains, one of the best ways to watch the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Champagne bush breakfast ensues before proceeding for a full day in the Mara savannah plains in search of the Big 5(elephant, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo), Impalas, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, cheetahs along the Mara River you will find a healthy population of Nile crocodiles and hippos. A sundowner on Kilima Camp conservancy as you drive back to the Camp in the evening for dinner.

ay 7: * Maasai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi City – Chyulu Hills National Park

After a morning breakfast in the camp, depart for Nairobi on a 5 hr 6min (161 mi) a stop in Narok town, as you proceed on to the rift valley view point for the next stop before the Carnivore Restaurant for lunch, continue your drive to Chyulu Hills National Park a 4 hr 7min (152mi) drive to Ol Donyo Lodge.

Arrive in the evening, check-in, freshen up for dinner. You may choose to go on a night game drive.

After a morning breakfast in the camp, depart for Nairobi on a 5 hr 6min (161 mi) a stop in Narok town, as you proceed on to the rift valley view point for the next stop before the Carnivore Restaurant for lunch, continue your drive to Chyulu Hills National Park a 4 hr 7min (152mi) drive to Ol Donyo Lodge.

Arrive in the evening, check-in, freshen up for dinner. You may choose to go on a night game drive.

After breakfast at the lodge, a 3 hr 35min (145 mi) drive to Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport Hotel, check-in for lunch, siesta at the rooftop swimming pool or have a Spa treatment (this is charged extra). Dinner and overnight at the Hotel

After breakfast, our driver guide will transfer you to the terminal for your early morning flight to Entebbe, bid you farewell. On arrival in Entebbe, our Ugandan partner’s driver will meet with you, brief you on the safari sector in Uganda.

Proceed to Kibale National Park, home to 13 primate species including the famous chimpanzees and the rare L’Hoest’s monkeys and the red colobus monkeys to mention a few.

The park has over 370 bird species recorded, and the best bird-watching at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary located outside the park. Check-in at Papaya Lake Lodge
(6hr 42min/209mi) for check-in for late lunch and dinner.

An early breakfast at the lodge, before heading for the briefing at the Park Headquarters a 35min (9,8 mi) drive. Here once briefed, departure is by 8am into the Forest in search of the chimpanzees.

Spend an hour with the chimpanzees before returning to the park HQ for your chimpanzee tracking certificates. Your Driver will then drive you back to the lodge for lunch, you will have afternoon to relax by the pool.

After breakfast, check-out for a 5 hr 36min (137mi) drive to Gorilla Forest Camp nestled deep inside Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the southwestern part of Uganda, Check-in at your lodge, lunch and afternoon spent relaxing, dinner and overnight.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight in Gorilla Forest Camp.

After breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters a briefing before the gorilla trekking activity in the impenetrable forest, home to the gorillas.

Spend an hour with the gorillas once you have found them, taking photos and watching their behaviors. Return to the parks’ headquarters, where your driver guide will drive you back to the Camp.

Lunch at the camp, siesta before the community tour to learn the culture and interact with the Batwa community, culture and way of life. Return for dinner and overnight.

Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight in Gorilla Forest Camp.

Early Breakfast at the Camp, check-out by 8am and proceed for a 6hr 20 min drive to Lake Mburo National Park, arrive for lunch and check-in at Mihingo Lodge situated in a magical setting adjacent to Lake Mburo National Park.

After lunch, you can relax before the boat trip on Lake Mburo, the park is the only one in Uganda that has an entire lake.

This is home to the hippos and crocodiles found in the lake along side waterbirds (especially Finfoot and Fish Eagles), animals such as zebra, impala, eland, buffalo, oribi and over 350 bird species. You may also see Warthogs, the Cape Buffalos, Oribis, Leopard, Civet and Spotted hyenas

The boat trip takes approximately 1½ hours and lifejackets are available at the landing site including children’s sizes. Return to the Lodge for dinner.

Breakfast at the lodge, check-out and proceed on a 3 hr 2min (98mi) drive to the Equator located in Kayabwe, Mpigi District for a polar water experiment and photographs, a visit to coffee shop for lunch, visit the shops for Uganda crafts and souvenirs.

After lunch, your journey continues on an hour 49mins (43.1mi) drive to Entebbe International Airport departure terminal. Your will driver guide will bid you farewell.
