Uniqueness of this Camp

At The Maji, they believe that the way forward for sustainability of our planet is to practice responsible tourism; from the protection of our wildlife and its environment, the human wildlife conflict, The Maji are determined and committed to do their part in minimizing the impact on their surroundings by caring for wildlife and reducing our carbon footprint by practice and education. 

The Maji’s initiatives includes regular beach clean ups amongst the staff and local communities through the “Green Team”, discouraging the illegal trade of shells and the destruction of the coral reef, ensuring all seafood bought in the hotel kitchen is from sustainable sources and measured/weighed in accordance to sustainable fishing guidelines. 

Other projects include upcycling furniture in their own workshops and discouraging the illegal destruction of their indigenous forests in Kenya. In aiming to reduce the impact on their environment at The Maji they try to recycle their waste as much as possible. 

With a Bio waste water recycling plant, they make their own garden compost, and separate their trash and ensure it is recycled responsibly, they use solar energy and eco biodegradable cleaning and laundry products as well as providing handmade luxury Eco products to our guests from local cottage industries.

  • 4 Deluxe Ocean View Rooms. 3 located on the First floor and 1 on the Top floor.
  • 3 Ocean Suites. 1 located on the Ground Floor, 1 located on the First Floor and 1 on the Top floor. The Jacuzzi Suite is located on the first floor includes bathroom Jacuzzi and rain shower.
