Overview
Located in eastern Uganda, roughly six hectares on Kalagala Island lies on a unique private island mid-stream within the mighty River Nile in Uganda, around 25km downstream from Jinja town. This sublime location is accessible only by boat which makes it a very adventurous place to stay.
Uniquely perched on granite rocks, with dramatic and exciting rapids roaring all around, naturally, the activities revolve around the river, which includes heart-pounding white-water rafting or bungee jumping, horse riding, and fishing. Wildwaters is a perfect area for bird viewing with more than 1000 bird species Uganda is famous for – such as turacos, cuckoos, hawks, and eagles.
Occasionally you might also spot giant otters and monitor lizards in the water, the Lodge is open- all year round for guests to enjoy this piece of paradise, intimate and relaxing location. An ideal location for honeymooners and couples seeking a quiet time, especially for those who take advantage of the Spa nestled over this ancient river.
Here you find, ten stand-alone elevated timber-floor and super-spacious luxury suites nestled in the rainforest with amazing views of the river. Each is linked by raised wooden walkways to the restaurant, bar, and library, and features glass-fronted windows, locally handmade furniture, stylish bathrooms with rain showers, and secluded wooden decks with daybeds and romantic free-standing open-air bathtubs.
All meals are included in your stay, with venue options of the main area by the poolside, private candlelit three-course dinner set up in your room, or by the pool on request. Delicious sunrise breakfast and a swimming pool cantilevered above the river in the attractive main communal lodge area.
The dishes are made from the freshest ingredients to accommodate most dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. All dietary preferences must be advised at the time of booking, Transfers to the island from Entebbe, Kampala, or Jinja can be arranged directly with the lodge.

Accommodation
9 deluxe suites and 1 family suites, are private and exclusive and can be configured into a double or triple, or twin configuration. Features include day bed is standard in all suites,
private balconies with freestanding baths and mosquito nets, a room safe, en-suite private bathroom with great rain showers, and complimentary toiletries.
Whilst children over the age of 12 are most welcome, parents must understand that Wildwaters Lodge is situated on an island surrounded by grade 5 plus rapids. They must be supervised at all times and will not be allowed to roam free on the island without being accompanied by a parent. They must also remain under adult supervision at all times.

All meals are included in your stay, the lodge power is supplied 24hrs by the national grid, with a generator back up, power is 220v and the plugs are 3-pin square UK standard and adapters are available from the reception on request, swimming pool, restaurant, bar, and library
Due to the nature of the river crossing to the island guests must arrive before 5 pm in order to arrive safely. All crossings are strictly and at the sole discretion of the acting general manager at Lemala Wildwaters Lodge.
