Overview

Ol Lentille opened in 2007 as Laikipia’s first lodge with private villas and is an amazing example of sustainable tourism, community partnership, world class architecture and interior design and authenticity. This Lodge has an Eco Tourism Kenya Silver Rating, located on a private conservation area and home to the endangered African wild dog, elephant, Grevy’s and Burchell’s zebra, greater kudu, leopard, cheetah, striped and spotted hyena and klipspringer to name but a few. Since the lodge opened in 2007 their trust (www.ol-lentilletrust.org) has raised over $5 million which has built four schools and numerous classrooms at eight other schools, a hospital, and water and sanitation projects. As tourism helps and improves the lives of the local communities– each stay helps protect and conserve the area and helps the local people as money goes directly to them. Guest donations are very much welcomed but not sought. The Sanctuary at Ol Lentille, Laikipia’s first all villa property is a lodge that is proud to be different.
