Overview

Part of the luxury collection of lodges and tented camps of Saruni’ s expansion, the ‘Saruni Rhino’ located in 839,000 acres of Sera Conservancy, undiscovered frontier of Kenya, about 1.5 hours’ drive from our Saruni Samburu Lodge un the nearby Kalama Conservancy. Saruni Rhino is a 3-banda camp, rustic stone cottages with a thatched roof and canvas zip down windows and doors. All bandas have flushing loos, hot & cold water with natural stone showers. The bandas are situated along a dry river bed lined with doum palms in a way that ensures maximum privacy for guests but intimate enough for group bookings on an exclusive basis.  Children of age 16 years and older are welcome at Saruni Rhino. A babysitting (‘ayah’) service is available upon request for approx. US$10 per hour payable directly Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the Swara main area for guests to use.

Herds of elephants populate this vast landscape, offering also amazing birdwatching and cultural experiences with the “singing wells”.

Accommodation

Banda One: is the larger of the original Kauro bandas (1 x double and the possibility to add up to 2 additional singles), with a shared, covered outside bathroom and toilet. This room has an open plan in style, a beautiful private sandy terrace has chairs and tables overlooking the ‘lugga’, the dry river bed. Banda Two is an open ‘Banda’ – stone cottage with 1 king size bed. The en-suite bathroom, natural stone shower, flushing toilet. A beautiful private sandy terrace with a sitting area looking the ‘lugga’, the dry river bed. A nearby tree bed provides additional relaxation space. Family Banda 3 has 2 x double bedrooms sleeping 4 people. A 3rd single bed can be added on a case by case basis in each room. Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms, natural stone showers with flushing toilets. A shared lounge provides a cool retreat from the large stone verandah which also has outside seating & tables and has the best view of the waterhole directly in front.
