Location: Ruaha National Park, Tanzania

Overview

Jabali Ridge Camp is perched on a rocky Kopje with views across the Ruaha savannah and stretches all the way to the Mwagusi River and Ikuka escarpment, in the largest national park in Tanzania. Here visitors may spot the greater and lesser Kudu, Sable, Roan antelopes, elephants, giraffes, bat-eared foxes, and some of the 570 bird species. Jabali Ridge was opened in September 2017, a contemporary wood build, and consists of eight bandas, a central lounge and bar, a dining room, a small library, a spa, and an impressive infinity pool. The landscape is made of sun-bleached plains, mighty baobabs, and hardy shrubs, where the rainy season brings incredible thundering of the Ikuka waterfalls and the Mwagusi beginning to flow after being dry for seven months. Families with children over 5 years old, with exceptions made based on camp occupancy upon inquiry. Jabali Ridge does not have any programs specifically for kids and children under 12 should share a tent with an adult. Children aged five and older are welcome to visit, with the dry season bringing excitement, with opportunities to spot buffalo herds in the riverbed and elephants digging in the sand for water. Jabali Ridge closes from mid-March until the end of May when the park is difficult to traverse. The closest airstrip is Msemba, a 50-minute drive from the camp.
