Overview

The Chem Chem Lodge is enveloped within 20 000 hectares (55 000 acres) of raw, untainted African bush within – Burunge Wildlife Management Area (WMA) secluded, elegant tent-style accommodation at three locations: Chem Chem Lodge, Little Chem Chem, and Forest Chem Chem.

Individually designed to evoke the spirit, luxury, and intimacy of a vintage safari experience.

Here, stillness seeps into your soul as herds of animals wander between watering holes, savannah grasslands, and a vast salt pan. It’s in the call of a nightjar you hear the warning bark from a dazzle of zebra or the keening cry of hyena echoing through the darkness as you tell stories around the fire pit beneath the sweep of southern stars.

This Safari-Chic accommodation immerses you in the wilderness of Tanzania, at one with an unsung corner of Africa.  A sophisticated oasis with a calm energy that embodies the slow safari concept born at Chem Chem Lodge. The handcrafted furniture and artworks adorn the spacious lodge and airy suites, and every element is a tribute to the remarkable lands the staff call home. 
Eight tent-style suites offer ultra-luxurious accommodation including 1 Family Suite of 2 bedrooms for 2 adults and 3 children, rooms are in king size beds or twin with privacy as key, with the nearest neighbour at least 80m away The lodge is closed from 1st April to 14th May every year.

Accommodation

8 tented suites (100 m²) including 1 family suite, Maximum guests: 16 adults + 2 children, Indoor & outdoor showers, In the room: fans, mosquito nets, in-room safe, hairdryer, telephone, Yoga mats for keeping ft, Electricity is 220V mains power, using UK plugs.

Families Suite: The Family Suite has 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms and can accommodate up to 3 children (under 16) and 2 adults. If the Lodge is hired exclusively, children of all ages are welcome. Children aged 4 years and over are welcome at this Lodge, All children must be accompanied by parents/guardians on all safari activities.
