Overview
Angama, inspired by the Swahili word for ‘suspended in mid-air’. Located high above the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, a remarkable owner-run safari lodge overlooking Kenya’s Maasai Mara, considered by many as the loveliest game reserve on the continent. The lodge is perfectly complemented by Angama Safari Camp, an exclusive-use mobile tented camp sited deep in the Mara Triangle, and amidst the mega herds during the Great Migration.
These spacious 100 sqm Tented Suites has floor-to-ceiling glass spanning all along the front to make the most of the dramatic views of the Maasai Mara from every angle – from the bed, the bath, the sitting area, the shower and even the w/c.
The roof and other three sides are canvas – classic safari olive on the outside and cream on the inside for romance, with spacious decks for in-room dining, massage treatments and red rocking chair safaris.
Decor features highly polished parquet floors with distinctive splashes of Maasai red and beautiful John Vogel woven screens, with brass finishes and Africology amenities, the double vanity features double basins adjacent to a separate w/c
A handsome drinks cabinet includes a personal bar and safe discreetly tucked away, the writing desk is equipped with ample charging points and Wi-Fi, a butler’s lobby allows for the discreet delivery of early morning tea and coffee.

Architect duo Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens, and Jan Allan, Kenya’s King of canvas, designed Angama Mara’s elegant and classical tented suites with an 11-metre wide floor-to-ceiling glass front. Each tent has the same breathtaking view – no one is better than the last – and every day, the sunrise provides guests with early morning theatre as the hot air balloons float gently by.
Angama Mara offers a selection of tented suites to fulfil your individual requirements, whether you may be taking your children on safari, Each camp has two sets of interconnected family suites which are identical to tented suites, except with the addition of a fully enclosed walkway linking them together. Each camp has two sets of interconnected family tents – four in total.
Children under the age of 12 can share a tented suite with their parents, with a fold-out bed converting it into a triple.
